猫戦

Nekosen (“Cat War”) is a Japanese pop band formed in Kyoto.
Their music, blending vocalist Harada's free lyrics and naive vocals with the sounds of instruments rooted in soul, jazz, and pop from both domestic and international influences, creates a nostalgic yet fresh, contemporary pop sensation.
Their first album, released on February 2, 2022, garnered attention on radio and in record shops, reaching the ears of numerous music lovers, including musicians and radio listeners. Simultaneously, their debut tour held in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka invited guests like Sunny Day Service and YeYe. Released in December as an LP, the album quickly sold out domestically and internationally, becoming a rare and sought-after record.
In February 2023, they hosted their inaugural party, "Cats&Mellow," featuring photos of the performers' pet cats. Merchandise proceeds, including donation items for supporting rescue cats, were available. Despite the absence of actual cats, the band proposed a grand feline celebration on a soulful night. In March of the same year, they released a cover of Sunny Day Service's hit song "Sakura super love."
From spring 2023, based in Tokyo after relocating from Kyoto, they began activities. Selected as the theme song artist for the Toei Animation-produced anime "Ikimono-san," they released the original track "Mochi Mochi" in July of the same year.
After a member change, starting in November 2023, they embarked on a nationwide tour in six cities with a drumless lineup. With an acoustic set in uniquely intimate venues themed around "intimacy," all shows were sold out. Their exploration of shapeless sounds and the journey of cats continue.
