CHIKUWA TASTING KYOKAI was formed in Tokyo in 2009.
This eight-piece band is characterized by energetic performances built on diverse ensembles that incorporate djembe, flute, saxophone, and more, with improvisation at its core.
The only things decided in advance are a few phrases and a rough outline of the song’s structure.
Their performances unfold with free-flowing sounds—digesting elements of techno, jazz, funk, and progressive rock—wrapped in the spirit of frenzy and improvisation.
