Aya Gloomy

Aya Gloomy is an artist from Tokyo, Japan.

At 16 years-old, she started to learn how to make music by herself, and since then, she has been self-producing everything from songwriting, lyrics, artwork to her unique fashion.

Her work has been acclaimed not only in her home country Japan, but outside its borders as well : her songs are played by the Apple Music's radio personality Matt Wilkinson, and she has performed with artists like Yves Tumor, Mykki Blanco, Silent Servant or Nothings during their stay in Japan. She played in LA at the Ace Hotel in 2017, and hold her own show in Hong-Kong in 2019.

In 2017, she released her debut EP "Ennui Ground" under the label BIG LOVE Records, followed the next year by the release of her first album "Oka no koto", accompanied by a 12-inch vinyl edition. This album was largely featured in renowned international media and playlists, such as the blog "Gorila vs Bear", the "Electronic Top Playlist" of US i-Tunes or the "Top Playlist" of the British i-D magazine.
In 2019, she released the self-produced EP "KANJIRU".

Aya Gloomy shows a multitude of talents outside the music scene itself. Among others, she performs as fashion model and run the "pompom shop" where she selects and sells second-hand clothes.
