IKILLU
IKILLU (pronounced "ikiru") is a drum-less trio formed in Tokyo in 2014.
Led by guitarist/songwriter Kazuya Takenouchi, known for supporting The fin., WONK, King Gnu, GLIM SPANKY, TaeYeon (from K-pop band SNSD) and more, the band is composed of members involved in various projects and session works.
Lead vocalist/songwriter Ami Koda is a London-based singer-songwriter who collaborates with many artists such as Laetitia Sadier(from Stereolab), Grimm Grimm, Forest Law and more.
Bassist Hodaka Kageta participates to several projects, such as Côte d'Ivoire-born percussionist Oswald Kouame's group or alternative band She Her Her Hers.
Their music reflects the various influences of each member, including post rock, new wave, triphop, dub or soul music.
The group self-released their 1st EP "Beginning for ending" in 2014 and had over 30 gigs a year, sharing the stage with artists such as ORESKABAND, King Gnu(Srv.vinci) or Tempalay.
Their latest single "2020" was released in January, 2021, with participation from Makoto Nagata (ex. Opus Inn), Taiki Matsuura (from She Her Her Hers), Oi Kazuya (from DATS, yahyel).
