Paralanda

Paralanda is a four-piece band formed following the hiatus of Group2, a group that had established a unique presence in the Tokyo indie scene. Drawing on roots in MPB, alternative rock, soul music, and the Shibuya-kei genre, they craft a sound that seamlessly shifts between sophisticated pop and organic grooves. The members are Shinpei Ueda (guitar/vocals), Taiki Kumagai (guitar), who also performs with Helsinki Lambda Club and Guiba, Yuki Ishii (drums), and Yosuke (bass). Shinpei Ueda, who played bass in Group2, now handles guitar and lead vocals in this band, serving as the center of their new artistic expression. With a genre-spanning, free-spirited sensibility and an urban, warm ensemble sound, they are breaking new ground in the Tokyo alternative
