Turquoise Shit is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Mayu, who has been captivating audiences in Shibuya and Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, with her band. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of music—including movie soundtracks, 70s female singer-songwriters, 80s disco, and 2010s alternative—her sound is a blend of the nostalgic and the novel, both familiar and refreshingly unique. Having grown up immersed in Western pop art, Mayu's lyrics and artwork vividly express her colorful emotions, both inside and out.
