影山朋子

Marimba vibraphone player, singer-songwriter
Born in Kobe Japan. She spent her childhood playing music and drawing.
While learning the contemporary classical music marimba at Osaka college of music, she appeared in a local jazz club in Kansai and started her performance activities. Since around 2006, she has been pursuing the possibilities of Marimba, performing in various genres such as jazz, latin, rock, pops, and improvisation, and performing with domestic and foreign artists. She was active as a live musician.
In 2011, she moved her base to Tokyo and began her activities in the style of playing marimba and vibraphone with her daily words sing. In 2015, she released her self-produced CDR “Before asleep. "
In 2019, she released her 1st album “Speed of light, in the shadow time" with 19 musicians from east and west of Japan.
She has participated in the recording and live performances of Yuta Orisaka, Eddie Marcon, Mori wa Ikiteiru, The Natsuyasumi Band, Shugo Tokumaru, and Maxi Priest.
In the fall of 2023, she moved to a mountain villa in Yamanashi Prefecture. She enjoys living close to nature, creating sounds inspired by the polished water and air at the foot of Mt. Fuji and the forest.
