Cidres

Cidres is a solo project by Ryo Matsumura, born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
He is a singer-songwriter. He also writes tanka poems and travelogues.

Started his activities to sublimate music, movies, novels, culture, and ideas that are own flesh and blood. Started writing lyrics, composing, arranging, orchestrating, programming, and producing home-recorded works. The method of expression is not limited to music alone; also compresses and expands the level of information starting from lyrics and creates "tanka/psalms/essays," which will be published at the same time as the release of debut album.

Finds "common ancestral theory" in orchestral sound, Eiichi Otaki's Niagara sound, and shoegaze approach, and pursues the pleasure of music with excess, frenzy, and dynamics.

The album "Yourland" is a collection of songs about resisting and being beaten down by the current situation, escapism, nihilism, and other issues, in genres ranging from wall of sound, shoegaze, neo-soul, dream pop, doo-wop, and dissidenticals.

The jacket was designed by Saki Soda, who has worked with various artists such as cero and Natsuyasumi Band. The album was produced by Yorimasa Fujimura (ex.Siamese cats) and features Haruki Funasoko (April Blue), Satoshi Kimura (ex.Take-Tombo) and rimma.

Cidres has four main purpose
Common Déjà Vu (déjà vu that I hope everyone has in common)
Anti Toxic Heterosexuality (rebellion against toxic masculinity and taken-for-granted heterosexuality norms)
Anti Competitivism (criticism of excessive competitivism and accelerationism)
Keep Beatin' Egos. (The feeling of crushing the ego as a terminal station, while incessantly play the ego)
